#161 – All In: The Poker Movie

A documentary that does a great job of telling the history and the breakout moments of a sport that held the public’s imagination for a brief moment.  Good interviews and storytelling are on display here but the biggest problem is how self-serving the film is to the sport itself.  There are brief stories of the traps and pitfalls of being a professional gambler but not nearly enough and the movie instead focuses on propping up poker and championing it to the point that you kind of get the impression that it was made by a gambler.

Recommend? Overall I liked it but it definitely portrays poker in a shining light.
