#91 – Morning Star

First thing to know about this movie is that there is no plot, absolutely none.  A medieval movie with castles and swords that is so completely boring that I was forced to start returning emails and clean things just to keep my sanity.  The poster is more exciting than anything that actually happens in this…

#94 – Fury

Fury falls victim to a problem that I’m finding with a lot of movies lately.  The first 2/3 are compelling and fascinating with action scenes like I’ve never seen on film.  Characters and motives that are clear and interesting, dialogue that conveys frustration and stakes, imagery that jumps from the screen…and then an ending that…

#34 – John Wick

The world that John Wick inhabits is one of danger and violence…like, a lot of violence.  John Wick is a throw back to the 80’s and 90’s action movies that preferred style over substance, even starring a man, Keanu Reeves, who rose to prominence as an unlikely star during that time.  What makes this movie…

#97 – The November Man

A pretty standard and dull spy movie which made me long for Pierce Brosnan and his James Bond days.  Everything is subpar, from the action sequences to the dialogue to the plot.  Brosnan’s character’s actions don’t even make sense half of the time and it’s just downright boring at times. Recommend? Just watch Goldeneye.

#12 – Falcon Rising

Everything about this movie is awful.  The dialogue is ludicrous and even the action is poorly shot.  Too bad to even be a low budget find I laughed out loud a few times at the acting…god, even the picture sucks. Recommend? Hell no.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I have to wait till Christmas?! Damn there is so much awesomeness in this trailer.  Apart from the clunky title I can’t think of one reason to not be excited about Star Wars: The Force Awakens and this trailer just reinforces all of that.  Christmas can’t come soon enough!

Ant-Man

Marvel continues to take over the world, this time with a thief who can shrink to the size of an ant. I’m still just not sure about this one.  The action scenes are encouraging and I like the look of Corey Stoll’s villain but after Edgar Wright left the project over “creative differences” I think…

#39 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Off the top, seriously, don’t even waste your time.  Going into this movie I had heard all of the negative reviews and that it was awful but being a fan of TMNT since I was a kid I just had to take a chance.  I kind of pride myself being able to find something positive…

Spy

I’m a big fan of the Action/Comedy genre and this looks like a great addition! This one has all of the hallmarks to be a summer hit.  Paul Feig has a great track record in such a short period of time and I love the blend of the comedic standouts Melissa McCarthy and Allison Janney…

Terminator: Genisys

Why?  Just why? Oh right, money that’s why.  This movie just look silly and I feel sad that the Terminator franchise has become almost a parody of itself with self aware snickers at lines of dialogue made famous by previous and better movies and a reason to involve Arnold Schwarzenegger again.  Oh, and they spelled…
