#105 – Noah

Man, this movie is all over the place.  Overall I’d have to say I liked it but this is a film that I can just imagine has a longer Director’s Cut that makes more sense with more room to grow the story.  As it is, it’s basically just a mash up of original bible story, action movie, disaster movie and somewhere there’s also a love story and an allegory of man’s destructive nature.  The story pushes ahead with none of the actors really getting any chance to set themselves apart besides Russell Crowe but Darren Aronofsky’s vision is so unique that despite all of these shortcomings I still was interested to see how it all would end.

Recommend? I would but I’d definitely let you know the problems going in.
