As a fan of the Despicable Me franchise and of the Minions themselves I had high hopes for this one but sadly it tries to stretch a comedic concept kept best for small breaks and turns it into a 90 minute feature that can’t hold up.  A great montage at the beginning is hilarious but once an actual story starts the Minions can’t keep the funny as consistent and so much of the film just becomes filler.  Suited almost entirely for kids, and many around me thoroughly enjoyed the film, Minions never rises above anything else than a distraction with laughs thrown in here and there.  The minions are best in small doses and not for a full length feature.

Recommend? For kids absolutely, but most adults should put it on and then get stuff done around the house after the opening montage.
